Our house mates made this yummy pie. Its called Belish and from Tataria (Tatarstan).
This one was made with par-boiled rice, raisins and dried apricots. The pie steamed the rice perfectly. Can also make a meat pie with potato and onion.Wednesday, October 14, 2009

Where is Tarastan? What is the crust made of, and what kind of rice is it?
ReplyDeleteRussia. Its pie crust they used 150 ml milk, 500g plain flour, 1 egg, half a pound of butter and sugar. bake at 185c 1 hour. Long grain/basmati rice. We are going to try one to make one soon, I tell you how it comes out.
